Who is Satoshi Nakamoto, the Founder of Bitcoin?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the developer of Bitcoin. It is not known that Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity represents a person or a group. Satoshi Nakamoto first announced the Bitcoin project in a closed mail group called gr Cryptography Mailing List.. After the announcement of Bitcoin, Nakamoto contacted the people who would develop Bitcoin via e-mail and carried out their work via e-mail. During this period, he took care not to reveal his identity.
In the studies conducted to reveal the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, it is claimed that Satoshi Nakamoto name was created by bringing together the first syllables of Samsung, Toshiba, Nakamichi and Motorola companies and that it was a Japanese. In this context, many people have claimed that Satoshi Nakamoto is a Japanese-origin Hall Finney, the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction and a member of Cyberpunk. Finney denied these allegations.
Hal Finney was the first to develop the business proof technology (Reusable Proof-of-Work), which is also used in Bitcoin technology. Finney is also a cryptography activist. Finney is uncomfortable with the oversight of governments and tries to find a solution to this situation. In 1991, he volunteered for the development of the PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) file and email encryption protocol that Phil Zimmermann made available free of charge.
Finney, the first known supporter of Bitcoin, who helped develop the Bitcoin project by communicating with Satoshi Nakamoto via e-mail, expressed his interest in Bitcoin as having the idea of producing untraceable crypto money and getting excited when he met Bitcoin. Hal Finney was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in 2009, and Finney died in 2014 due to an ALS-related complication.
Another alleged Satoshi Nakamoto is Nick Szabo, a computer scientist at George Washington University, who also works on smart contracts and digital currencies. Nick Szabo first used the concept of smart contract, which gained fame with the Ethereum Blockchain network in 1993. The privacy-based digital currency ‘BitGold en, developed by Nick Szabo in 1998 on cryptography, is based on the claim that Szabo is Satoshi Nakamoto.
Another person who claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto was Japanese-American, Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto. Dorian Nakamoto lived for 10 years in the same city as Hall Finney and in a neighborhood very close to Finney. However, there is no known link between the two. Dorian Nakamoto stated that he was not interested in the Bitcoin project and did not know anyone about the project, that he had no relationship with Bitcoin and that he was uncomfortable with these claims.
Another important controversy about who Satoshi Nakamoto is is that Australian businessman Craig Wright is the developer of Bitcoin, which is widely debated in the crypto community and leads to even manipulations of Bitcoin's worth. The claim that Craig Wright, an IT specialist, could be Satoshi Nakamoto was first raised in 2015 by various technology platforms. In 2016, Wright confirmed that he was Satoshi Nakamoto and claimed to be the developer of Bitcoin.
The crypto community was skeptical of Wright's claim and asked him to sign the Bit Genesis Block, Sat produced by Satoshi Nakamoto, the first Bitcoin block produced to prove his claim. Wright failed to sign the Genesis Bloc and made various excuses. While the crypto community does not believe Wright's claims, Wright persistently maintained that he was Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright, who confronted the crypto community, caused both the Bitcoin community to manipulate the Bitcoin value by claiming that it had a large number of Bitcoins, that Bitcoin could be finished, that Bitcoin was open in its source code, and that the value of Bitcoin would be reset if it appeared.
Craig Wright, who first supported the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) project, began supporting Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) with the bifurcation of the Bitcoin Cash project, claiming that BCH and then BSV were the features of the real Bitcoin concept, and warned Bitcoin investors. Wright failed to confirm the claims that he was the developer of Bitcoin with the documents he presented in the case he faced with the David Kleiman family and lost the case last August.
Apart from the above, there have been many claims regarding Satoshi Nakamoto's identity, and new claims continue to be brought up. Even the allegations of the American secret service CIA are behind it, who are the developers or developers of Bitcoin remain a mystery. However, given the highly original and innovative idea and revolutionary technology behind it, Bitcoin will remain important regardless of the identity of its developers and developers.
